TNT's Leverage on the look out for burly men to play "cops, security guards, and thugs"

Posted 1/14/2010

Lana Veenker Casting is organizing a Leverage Thug Informational Meeting for adult males who fit the aforementioned profiles.

The White Stage Building located at 70 NW Couch St. in Old Town will play host to these meetings, Tues. Jan. 19, 2010 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Attendance is free, but interested parties must RSVP at http://leveragethug.eventbrite.com in order to be admitted, as space is limited.

The 411 on Thugness
Aspiring thugs will receive information on applying for background, stunt and small principal roles on the show, as well as resources for pursuing further acting and stunt training, including a "Thug Boot Camp" coming up in February. But one important distinction that Veenker makes known is that this informational meeting should not be mistaken as a casting call.

The casting director states that martial arts and military backgrounds are in high demand, as well as ethnic diversity, for the thug and cop roles. Height is not important (in fact, in some cases, shorter men are at an advantage), but an athletic, burly or muscular frame is.

The show, which airs on the TNT cable network, shot all of Season 2 in and around the Portland metropolitan area, employing over 120 actors and more than 800 background artists from the Northwest.
