Enjoy Movies As You Never Have Before!
Be in the Company of Filmmakers as Their Films are Shown at Valley River Center’s Regal Cinemas, October 3, 4 and 5, 2008.
This is a record breaking year for volunteers to meet, greet and socialize with filmmakers coming to Eugene for the 2008 Eugene International Film Festival. “Welcome to Indie Filmmakers from Around the World” is the 2008 Eugene International Film Festival volunteer theme.
More filmmakers have committed to attending the 2008 EIFF screenings of their films than ever before. They are bringing with them their enthusiasm for film loving audiences, professional associates, family members and a desire to meet the people of Eugene who love films. As a volunteer you will receive an exclusive collectors T-shirt identifying you as an EIFF staff associate. EIFF juried films will be shown at dedicated theaters for three days at the new Valley River Center Regal Cinemas 15. There will be VIP led workshops as well as opening and closing receptions.
Early Bird volunteer opportunities exist now and through the October festival weekend. The EIFF is recruiting volunteers for our entry in the Eugene Celebration Parade, Sept. 14th. People to help with our Eugene Celebration Booth are also needed.
As the festival approaches other activities will include poster distribution. During the festival qualified volunteers will be asked to help visiting filmmakers find their way around town.
The Eugene International Film Festival is supported in part by Regal Entertainment Group, Hollywood Video, Comcast, Lane County Tourism Special Projects Grant, Concentric Sky IT services, Showbiz Software, Rivercoast Films Distribution, Chambers Productions and the City of Eugene.
The Eugene International Film Festival is a boutique film market. Three films, “Berkeley,” “The Garage,” and “American Meth,” were signed to distribution deals at the 2007 festival. They are now available nationwide at Hollywood Video Stores.

Office Manager Volunteer
Archaeological Legacy Institute
Archaeological Legacy Institute is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization based in Eugene.
Our streaming-media
website
has become the
world's most popular web site, with annual traffic of about 6.5 million page views. ALI also produces
The Archaeology Channel International Film and Video Festival, an annual cultural event in downtown
Eugene. We currently work out of a home office and are looking for opportunities to move into
commercial office space.Hourly Commitment: At least 10 hours per week.
Job Purpose: To guide and manage daily office functions and activities through the application of standard efficient office management practices.
Description: Productivity in our office is seriously hampered because our Executive Director and our Administrative Assistant are continually called upon to handle routine office tasks such as filing, bill paying, bookkeeping, correspondence, and so forth while also trying to develop and manage programs and raise funds! We need office help! An Office Manager would improve and maintain the office infrastructure to support the activities of the others who work here. This is a chance to help accelerate the progress of a dynamic and growing nonprofit enterprise. You will be joining a dynamic and innovative team on a mission to create a unique media organization with worldwide influence. Your help here will have a direct impact on ALI's productivity and ability to pursue its public mission. And the experience you gain will be directly transferable to other office positions you may seek in the future.
Key Responsibilities: Filing, bill paying, bookkeeping, correspondence, answering the phone, scheduling, data management, research, and special assignments as needed.
Requirements: We are not too picky, but we do prefer people who have interest and some experience in office management. The more experience in office work the better, of course. We will train you in the day-to-day tasks so that you can take them on yourself with confidence.
To Apply: Contact Dr. Richard Pettigrew by telephone (345-5538) or e-mail:
